Google Yanks Nexus 5 And Original Chromebook Pixel From Play Store

Ever since the Nexus 6 was launched last year the Nexus 5’s availability on the Google Play Store has been spotty at best. It has been in and out of stock a couple of times. Before 2014 ended red and white versions of the device had disappeared from the Play Store altogether. The black version remained in stock at times but now its time is over as well. Nexus 5 is now out of stock and Google has listed that it is “no longer available for sale.”

Google’s message that the Nexus 5 is no longer available for sale applies to both the 16GB and 32GB versions of the device. This is pretty much the end of the road for this smartphone’s sales through Google Play.

Nexus 5 isn’t the only product that Google has yanked from the Play Store. The original Chromebook Pixel, which is a premium notebook powered by Chrome OS and costs $1,299, is now also listed as “no longer available for sale.”

There have been rumors recently that Google is working on a successor to the Chromebook Pixel so that should take its place in the near future if the notebook really is in the pipeline.

Nexus 6 is Google’s flagship smartphone and it can easily be purchased through the Play Store.
