iPhone 6S Rumored To Get 2GB RAM And Apple SIM

There is still a lot of time left before Apple is due to announce the 2015 iPhone models but that doesn’t stop the rumor mill. Word on the street is that the iPhone 6s, that’s what the successor is being referred to right now, is going to have 2GB RAM. It is also rumored that the next flagship smartphone from the company is going to have the Apple SIM which would allow users to select their preferred carrier straight out of the box.

The source claims to have received this information from a person who is familiar about Apple’s future product plans. Therefore is claimed that the iPhone 6s, and possibly even its Plus version, will have 2GB of RAM.

Apple has stuck with 1GB RAM for its smartphones ever since the iPhone 5 came out back in 2012. The most recent models, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, stick with the same amount of RAM.

Apple is also said to be strongly considering shipping the next-generation iPhone with the Apple SIM pre-installed. It first arrived with the iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi + LTE last year and lets customers opt for mobile data plans from any participating carrier straight through the Settings app.

It remains to be seen though if carriers let Apple go down this route with its iPhone, which sells considerably more units than the company’s tablet, previous reports have suggested that carriers have shot down Apple’s plans to do something along the same lines in the past.
