Kik is just one of the many cross-platform instant messaging apps that are jostling for space on your smartphone and today it announced the launch of a new feature which is surely going to interest many users. The app now features a full web browser that users can summon in-chat, it’s a major upgrade from the in-app sidebar browser that has already been available to Kik users for quite some time.

The in-chat web browser will let Kik users access and share any web page from inside the app. Simply tap on the new web icon on the chat homescreen to bring it up.

Users can then use the search feature to either locate a website or just enter a URL. Kik will put some of the “best content made for Kik” front and center so users can discover the most popular and newest sites.

The full-screen in-chat browser is a big upgrade from the sidebar browser that first arrived on Kik back in 2012. It allowed users to easily share content with the people they chat with, the company says that this latest feature brings that experience to “the forefront.”

Aside from the new in-chat browser, today’s Kik update also includes new chat bubble colors.
