Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Spotted At The FCC

s6 activeJust yesterday we reported that according to a leaked image, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active was finally revealed and based on its design which shows off its ruggedness, it certainly looks pretty believable. Now for those looking to get their hands on the device, you will be happy to learn that the handset has been spotted at the FCC.

What does this mean? Basically it means that the phone is being vetted to see if it is fit for use in the US and also means that it is now one step closer to being released. Unfortunately the FCC filing does not tell us when that will be, but like we said it does signify that its release is imminent and it is up to AT&T as to when they want to officially announce the device.

The FCC filing does not mention the Galaxy S6 Active explicitly, but rather it references its model number which is the SM-G890A. Given that the Galaxy S5 Active had the model number SM-G870A, we can only assume that this is referring to its successor. Not to mention previously it had been revealed that the model number for the Galaxy S6 Active is that of SM-G890A.

As a quick recap of its rumored specs for those who might have missed the rumors, the Galaxy S6 Active is said to feature a 5.1-inch QHD display and will be powered by an Exynos 7420 processor. The phone will come with a 16MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 3,500mAh battery and is expected to feature protective features, such as water-resistance, dustproofing, and protection against drops and bumps.
