Twitch quickly gained popularity to become the go-to destination for gamers who want to broadcast their gaming sessions and for people who want to view these broadcasts. The service is now available on multiple gaming platforms and through mobile apps lets users view the streams even on smartphones and tablets. Twitch today announced that its apps will now allow you to watch past broadcasts on-demand.

This is a feature that the community has repeatedly requested the Amazon-owned company to roll out and it has finally followed through. VODs on mobile will let you watch highlights and past broadcasters from all Twitch partners as well as broadcasters whose videos are HLS enabled.

You can locate available VODs on a channel’s Activity Feed, to get there either tap the Activity Feed icon located on the player if you’re watching a live channel. If you’re in the Following directory or Search page tapping on any offline channel will take you to the Activity Feed directly.

Twitch also says that with this latest release it has patched a possible security vulnerability in its Android app, this change will require users on Android to download and install a completely new app instead of just updating the one they already have.

Users on Android have to delete the old app first and download the new one from here, iOS users update the app as they normally would.
