The first patent was filed for “custom location notification,” and this particular patent is said to trigger alerts, which in turn will depend on the location of your family and friends. This is not some sort of delayed relay, but rather, it is all happening in real time. No doubt this will be an extension of Apple’s Find My Friends app, letting one person track just where another person is. Should this patent be included, imagine the possibilities of tighter geofencing for security reasons. Of course, privacy issues would arise, which is why the patent also mentioned how approval is required before a person can be tracked by someone else.
As for the second patent application, it is known as “indoor remote triggered scanning,” and will work in relation to the previous patent described above. This would mean having the feature function indoors, which is something that has been unable to be implemented for quite some time all this while.
