BlackBerry Oslo Might Be Next Porsche Design BB

BlackBerry is having trouble selling its handsets as it is but every year the company teams up with Porsche Design to create an exclusive high-end device which it then sells for a couple of thousand dollars. Interestingly, the Porsche Design models do have a market in certain pockets of the world where customers like to spend that kind of money on what’s basically a spruced-up BlackBerry.

Recently there have been many reports and leaks concerning a new BB handset, believed to go by the codename BlackBerry Oslo. A few days back multiple pictures of the handset were leaked online.

Up till now it was believed that this is going to be a slightly updated model of the BlackBerry Passport, since the two handsets look quite alike, which the company is going to release later this year.

BerryReview claims to have confirmed from an internal source that what has up till now been known as the BlackBerry Oslo is actually the BlackBerry Keian, which is going to be the 2015 Porsche Design BB handset.

Though as expected, it’s going to be based on the BlackBerry Passport with a minor tweaks, it’s expected that the handset may have 64GB of onboard storage as opposed to the 32GB you get on the Passport.

One might ask why the handset in the leaked photos didn’t carry the Porsche Design logo, that’s probably because what was leaked is a development unit, which means more changes are likely to be in the pipeline before this handset is officially announced.
