Netflix Confirms Release Dates For First Original Movies

Netflix is no stranger to original content, it already has a vast library of original shows and documentaries so it was only a matter of time before the company jumped into the production of original movies. Recently the company did confirm the first set of original movies that it’s working on and now Netflix has revealed the release dates for those movies. All of the movies that Netflix is producing will be released in 2015.

Beasts of No Nation is the first movie with True Detective director Cary Fukunaga behind the camera, it’s going to be released on Netflix and will also be opened in select theaters across the country on October 16th.

Adam Sandler has signed on to do four movies with Netflix, the first of which is called The Ridiculous Six, it stars Sandler alongside Terry Crews, Nick Nolte and Rob Schneider and will debut on December 11th.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend is going to arrive on Netflix in the first quarter of 2016 with a planned domestic IMAX release and a theatrical release in China.

The Paul Reubens and Judd Apatow collaboration titled Pee-wee’s Big Holiday will be coming to Netflix in March next year, rounding up the first set of original movies from Netflix.
