Dual-SIM Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Could Have MicroSD Support

note 5 leakWhile some Android users aren’t fans of microSD cards since there is the argument that it’s slower and corrupts easily, there are some who find it vital. After all no one likes paying $100 more for an extra 16GB of storage, and a microSD card is a cheap and easy solution to that problem.

Now we have been hearing rumors that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will not feature a microSD card slot which might be a bummer for some, but now according to a report out of Taiwan (via Phandroid), it seems that the phone might have microSD card support after all, although it will only be available in the dual SIM model.

The report claims that with the dual SIM model, the SIM tray will also pull double duty as a microSD card reader. This setup isn’t all that strange especially in parts of Asia where dual SIM phones appear to be pretty popular. However what this also means is that unless Samsung decides to start selling the dual SIM  Galaxy Note 5 variant stateside, we’re still left without microSD support.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but remember Samsung is unveiling the handset next Thursday so if you’d like to get the official details, check back with us then for more updates.
