A new 3D printing platform called Kwambio has been launched today, it’s a curated marketplace that features designer products in four categories: home decor, tech and gadgets, fashion and art. It provides mass customzation and 3D printing for these designer products, all products offered on the platform are verified and customizable directly from the web browser and the Kwambio iOS app. Products can be 3D-printed at home or ordered and delivered on demand.

Kwambio is meant to be a creative community of people who like and share products that others have created, they can also follow their favorite designers to discover their new creations.

Designers don’t have to worry about their designs being pirated, Kwambio encrypts and streams all designs directly to 3D printers, so users get access to a lot of products that they can easily 3D-print while designers get the peace of mind that their creations won’t be stolen and spread across the internet without due credit.

Shape and pattern of a product can easily be customized by using “slider” keys, algorithms handle everything in the background. There will be some constraints on customization set by designers and users have to stay within these limits to create their own versions of the products.

If Kwambio users don’t have a 3D printer at home they can have their customized product 3D-printed and delivered on demand, it has partnered with iMaterialise for this purpose which offers 3D printing in 18 different materials.

Kwambio can be accessed online by clicking here, the iOS app will be available a little later from the App Store.
