LastPass Goes Free On Smartphones

A very well known password management app called LastPass has gone free for smartphones, users get completely free access from their smartphones and they can even sync across smartphones for free. The same is also true for tablets so this is quite a good option for mobile device owners who have been looking for a robust password management application. New users can get started with LastPass free on Android, iPhone or Windows Phone.

LastPass is also available for free now if the user plans on using it only on desktop, but the company is going to charge them if they want to use the app on both mobile and desktop.

The entire idea of using a password manager is to easily access passwords on multiple devices so it would make sense to many users to pay just so they can have unlimited sync between LastPass on mobile and LastPass on desktop.

Unlimited sync is offered under LastPass Premium which costs $12 per year, this gives users access to a Shared Folder which allows them to easily share passwords with others. They also get another layer of protection with Premium multifactor options and receive priority customer support.

Existing free and Premium LastPass users can continue using the app without any changes while new users can decide where they want to get started for free. New users will get a 14 day free trial of the Premium service.
