LG Unveils 111-inch 4K TV That Can Be Viewed From Both Sides

LG_double_sided_OLED_TV-590x330Have you ever walked behind a display and thought to yourself, “Wouldn’t it be great if I could see what’s on the display without having to go around it?” Chances are that’s not a question many of us ask ourselves. However at the same time, this is an apparent problem that LG wants to solve.

The company has recently taken the wraps off a 111-inch 4K TV that has a double-sided display. This means that whether you’re standing in the front or the back, you will be able to view its contents perfectly. While the idea of a TV with a double-sided display is a silly idea if it were used at home, its commercial potential is huge.

If you’ve always hated crowding behind people in the mall or at the bus stop trying to look for information, the creation of a double-sided display would allow more users to access information at the same time. Unfortunately LG did not mention when we might see these display put into mass production, so chances are it exists more as a proof-of-concept.

Chances are it will also probably cost a small fortune so like we said, if and when LG were to commercialize it, it will most likely find uses outside of homes. Perhaps it will be deployed at public venues, or maybe even in schools where a double-sided display could foster collaboration between students.
