Rose Gold iPhones Account For 40% Of Pre-Orders

iPhone6s-RoseGold-BackFront-HeroFish-PR-PRINTWith the launch of the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Apple introduced a new color to the mix in the form of rose gold. While originally thought to come off more like a copper finish, based on photos and videos, it seems to have a more pink hue to it than anything. However it seems that despite that, it has been a very popular choice.

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he has estimated that the rose gold option is the most popular amongst the iPhones, and that it could have easily accounted for as much as 40% of pre-orders. This is actually pretty amazing when you think about it since there are four different colors for users to choose from.

Kuo goes on to state that apart from Apple, Foxconn will be the main beneficiary of the rose gold finish. This is apparently because they are the only casing supplier capable of volume production of that particular finish. Given how fast they have sold out, safe to say that Foxconn has a busy few weeks/months ahead of them.

It is unclear as to why the rose gold option is so popular. It could be that it is a new color and people are smitten by the novelty, just like how the gold version of the iPhone was so popular when it was first introduced, but what say you? Did you order a rose gold iPhone 6/6s for yourself?
