Samsung Galaxy S7 Will Not Feature Dual Camera Setup [Rumor]

samsung-dual-cameraEarlier this year we heard rumors that Samsung was exploring the idea of a dual camera setup for its phones. It was then rumored that the 2016 Samsung Galaxy S7 would feature said setup, but now a rumor out of Korea has suggested that no, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will not feature a dual camera setup, but at the same time it does not mean the technology is dead.

The rumors claim that Samsung is still working on the technology and that it is expected to finish development of it by the end of 2015. However given that development is only planned to be completed by the end of the year, it doesn’t give Samsung a lot of time to manufacture the component in time for the Galaxy S7, which last we heard was rumored for a January announcement.

Instead a mobile device with the dual camera design is said to be planned for later in 2016, which we can only assume might be for devices like the Galaxy Note 6 and other possible variants. So far there have been some companies who have attempted to include dual cameras in their phones.

This includes the HTC One M8 and the recently announced LG V10. While the idea and concept is great as it adds a greater depth of field and focus control, it hasn’t exactly been the killer feature that many thought it would be, so it will be interesting to see how Samsung will approach it, assuming the rumors are true.
