LG G4 To Receive Android 6.0 Update Next Week Starting With Poland

lg-g4-industrial-design-33A couple of weeks ago we reported that LG was getting ready to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the LG G3 and G4 handsets. For those wondering when that will be, wonder no more because it seems that LG has already begun rolling out the update. However the rollout has begun in Poland so for the rest of us, we will have to wait.

According to LG, the update will be released first to the LG G4, “Owners of LG Electronics’ (LG) G4 smartphone will be the first in the world to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. LG G4 owners in Poland will begin receiving their M upgrade beginning next week with other markets in Europe, Asia and the Americas to follow.”

Unfortunately the company did not detail any specifics with regards to a release to other markets, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long, although we suppose at the very least we should take comfort in knowing that the process has begun. The company also did not specify any other devices that will receive the update, like the LG G3, but hopefully we will hear about that soon as well.

According to Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company, “By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of our competitors. While speed alone isn’t an indicator of great service, it does go a long way toward giving consumers the confidence that LG is committed to its existing customers first.”
