Amazon also has an online music streaming service that’s part and parcel of its $99 per year Prime membership, the company has released a new update for Prime Music that comes with support for Android Wear. This means that those who own an Android Wear smartwatch will now be able to use the service right from their wrist. Another new feature added to this application is the ability to download songs directly to a smartphone’s SD card for offline playback, the app previously allowed users to only download songs for offline playback on their phone’s internal storage.

Users were at a disadvantage when they could only download songs for offline playback to the smartphone’s internal memory. MicroSD cards are the most common way that people expand their smartphone’s memory and use them to store content like music and movies that take up a lot of space.

Now that they’re able to download and store songs to the SD card for offline playback they really don’t have to be limited by storage concerns so they can essentially download as many songs as they like for offline playback.

Support for Android Wear means that Amazon Prime Music users can browse the app through their smartwatch and also control playback right from their wrist, it makes things much easier for those who own an Android Wear powered smartwatch. Some nominal user interface tweaks have been made in this latest update aside from stability improvements. The new update is now live on the Google Play Store and the Amazon Appstore.
