Upcoming Jeremy Clarkson Show On Amazon Will Be In 4K

hammond clarkson maySeveral months ago, the BBC’s former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May signed a deal with Amazon. This deal would basically see them bring a show, presumably similar to the likes of Top Gear, onto Amazon for Amazon Prime subscribers. Last we heard, Amazon had allocated a massive budget of £160 million, so safe to say we’re expecting a lot from it.

That being said, what can we expect from the show so far? The good news is that for those who plan on streaming the show onto their 4K TVs, it looks like the show has been filmed in 4K so in terms of clarity and quality, we can expect to see it. According to a report from The Week, “Broadcasting in 4K will mark a shift for Clarkson and his co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond, who began filming Top Gear in the lesser standard of ‘high-definition’ in July 2007.”

Prior to this, it was unclear as to who might be hosting the former Top Gear hosts. Jeremy Clarkson was hosting Top Gear in the UK before an incident led to him being let go from the show. While his co-hosts had nothing to do with it, they decided to leave the BBC and follow Clarkson. There were initial rumors that Netflix might play home to the trio, but it looks like Amazon managed to snag them all in the end.
