This should not really come as a surprise given that last year, Lenovo successfully acquired Motorola Mobility from Google. There was even talks about how Lenovo Mobility (the company’s phone division) could be folded into Motorola which makes sense. After all why create two different brands that would essentially compete with each other, right?
A report from a few months ago even suggested that Motorola will be in charge of designing and manufacturing Lenovo’s smartphones moving forward, so if anything this report seems to have confirmed that. That being said, we’re not sure how much the Vibe brand would be missed to begin with.
While they have several decent handsets under their belt, Lenovo’s Vibe smartphones just never caught on the same way that Motorola’s phones have, but what say you? Would the Vibe brand be missed, or do you think that Lenovo is making the right call by trying to sell more phones under the Motorola banner?
