Amazon Prime Video Coming To Apple TV Soon

Apple TV-4G_Remote-PRINTWhen Apple announced the new Apple TV back in September, they also announced that it would come with apps for video streaming such as Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Now. However missing from the list was Amazon Prime Video. Some had suspected this was Apple’s way of retaliating against Amazon for pulling down listings of Apple TV on its website, but it was not the case.

According to a report from MacRumors, it seems that an Amazon Instant Video app will be on its way. This is according to a tweet by Dan Bostonweeks in which he reached out to Amazon who replied to him saying, “Hopefully, within a few weeks span, you will be able to see the Amazon Instant Video app feature on your Apple TV.”

Like we said, some had initially thought the lack of Amazon’s Prime Video was due to Apple retaliating but in a statement Apple had issued to BuzzFeed News, they claim that “all are welcome” on its new Apple TV platform, and the lack of Amazon Instant Video was simply because Amazon had not submitted an app to Apple at that time.

No specific dates on its release but given that the statement from Amazon did say a few weeks, we guess we’re in for a wait but hopefully we’ll be able to get our hands on the app in time for the holidays. Until then we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled so check back with us at a later date for the details.
