Google first released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Nexus devices nearly two months back, third-party OEMs have not nearly been as fast, since most of them are still putting their own touches to the update before they send it out. Motorola is once again proving to be one of the very few OEMs who are the first to send out a major Android update that Google has already released, and it’s now sending it out for the Moto X 2014 Pure Edition.

Moto X 2014 Pure Edition, also known as the U.S. version of this handset, is now receiving the much awaited update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This particular version of the Moto X was sold off-contract and unlocked via the company’s own website.

Many Moto X 2014 Pure Edition owners have already received said update, however Motorola is yet to confirm when carrier branded versions of this very handset are going to receive the update that millions of Android users have now grown tired of waiting for.

The international version of this handset has already been updated to Marshmallow, release notes don’t reveal much aside from the fact that this bumps up the core OS to Android 6.0, with all of the new features being part and parcel of this update.

Even though it has been over a day since Motorola started this roll out it might still take some time for this update to go live across all regions, but now that it’s rolling out, the entire process shouldn’t take more than a couple of days at the most.
