Game Of Thrones Season 6 Set For April 24

game of thronesWinter is coming, Game of Thrones fans, and the question is, are you ready? For those who were left hanging and understandably frustrated by the end of Season 5, it looks like you won’t have to wait much longer to get your answers, or at least that’s what we hope, because the official premiere date has been announced.

According to HBO, the sixth season of Game of Thrones will be released on the 24th of April, 2016. However as you might have heard, this season of Game of Thrones, and possibly future seasons, will no longer be based on the books by George R.R. Martin. This is simply because Martin has not finished writing the series.

In fact Martin’s next book, which was meant to be for Season 6, will not be completed before the show airs. This means that what you see in Game of Thrones might be very different compared to the book and may very well be non-canon. For fans of both the book and the series, the latter of which has been pretty faithful to the source material, this is disappointing but unavoidable.

Season 6 is also expected to pick up on the storyline of Bran Stark whom we’ve heard little to nothing about in the previous season. So remember if you don’t want to miss out on the latest season, you’ll want to mark your calendars for the 24th of April.
