The Taser Pulse Is Designed For Civilians

taser pulseMost of the time when you see a taser, chances are they are being used by law enforcement officials. However what if you wanted to protect yourself as a civilian? What if you wanted something similar to a taser, except legal? The good news is that the company has recently launched a civilian device in the form of the Taser Pulse.

The Pulse was designed for regular folks in minds and is small enough to fit into purses, bags, and back pockets, meaning that pulling it out on an assailant will be quick and easy. As you can see in the accompanying photo above, the Pulse is pretty small, but don’t let its size fool you because it does pack quite a punch.

According to the company, the Pulse comes with a laser to help assist in aiming, 30-second duration output of electricity, giving you enough time to run away, and they are promising the same knockdown power used by “more than 18,000 law enforcement agencies in 107 countries”.

Mike Gish, Vice President of TASER Weapon Strategy says, “We removed many of the industrial features required for law enforcement use such as data logs, pulse logging and charge metering, live displays and the TASER CAM interface, while using our patented Shaped Pulse electrical waveform to create the smallest, easily concealable form factor at an affordable price point. Despite an introductory price as low as $399, we haven’t sacrificed the effective knock-down power.” The Pulse is priced at $399 and will be available in the first quarter of 2016.
