Apple Music For Android Updated Will SD Card Support

apple-music-android-2If you are using Apple Music on your Android device, you will be pleased to learn that in an update to the app, you will have gained a functionality that Apple users do not have, and that is support for SD cards. This means that if you’re the type that likes to save a lot of songs for offline listening, you will be able to save it to your SD card instead of your phone’s memory.

Apple’s iPhones have been criticized in the past for having too little memory, especially the 16GB version which after the installation of the operating system, doesn’t leave much room for other files or apps. Increasing storage size does not come cheaper as each jump in size is considerably pricey.

So by offering SD card support, Android users who rely heavily on SD cards on their phones will have somewhere to store their music if they don’t want it stored on the main memory of their phone. Why didn’t Apple Music support this earlier, we’re not sure, but better late than never we guess.

That being said, the question is how many people are using the app? The Play Store shows that there are anywhere between 1,000,000 to 5,000,000 installs, and it looks like reviews of the app have since gone up. At launch, many Android users lambasted the app and gave it 1 star reviews, but it looks like things have normalized since. You can go ahead and grab the latest update from the Google Play Store.
