Samsung Galaxy S7 In Canada Is Of The Exynos Variant

galaxy-s7-design_01Are you stoked with the recent announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S7 as well as the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge? Well, if you happen to reside over in the Great White North (that is, Canada), then you might be interested to know that the Galaxy S7 that you will be getting will be of the Exynos variant, whereas those who live over in the US would be rocking to the Snapdragon-powered version of the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Similar to the US, folks living in Canada can already place a pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, with a March 11 release date being put on paper. The slew of Canadian variants rely of both Galaxy S7 devices will run on Samsung’s very own octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset. Apart from that, one is unable to obtain a Galaxy S7 that runs on a Snapdragon 820 processor over in Canada.

So far, initial benchmark tests do point to the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S7 being a wee bit better in performance compared to the Exynos-powered model, although in real life use, chances are the minor difference in benchmark figures will be noticed. Basically, those living in US and China will receive the Snapdragon variant, while the rest of the world will see their Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge devices run on an Exynos chipset.
