Windows 10 has been around for several months now and when the OS was released Microsoft said that it will release Windows 10 Mobile to Windows Phone 8.1 devices before the end of 2015. However, it confirmed in December that Windows 10 Mobile release was being delayed and that users will have to wait until early 2016. While it hasn’t officially confirmed a release date right now an update from Microsoft Mexico might have let slip that Windows 10 Mobile release will take place on February 29th.

There was a bit of confusion last month since Microsoft didn’t really provide a confirmed release date for the update. Some of its carrier partners were of the view that the update will arrive in January 2016 but it never did.

Microsoft Mexico mentioned in an update on its official Facebook page that Windows 10 Mobile is going to be released for those who own a Windows Phone 8.1 device on February 29th while also reminding them that not all previous devices will be upgradeable to the new software.

It’s not like folks aren’t waiting for this update to arrive. Windows Phone 8.1 users have been made to wait for a considerably long time. At least the company could provide a confirmed release date so that they know when to expect Windows 10 Mobile. It’s not nice to leave them all hanging in the balance.
