So far when it comes to Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, many have associated Angelina Jolie with that role which spanned two movies. Jolie’s look was modelled after the original game, but given that the franchise has since been rebooted with a very different Lara Croft, we expect that future Tomb Raider movies might want a new actress as well.

In fact according to a report from Deadline, word has it that British actress Daisy Ridley is in the running to potentially be the new Lara Croft in a rebooted Tomb Raider movie. Note that nothing has been confirmed or set in stone yet as the movie is still in its very early stages of production, and apparently the producers are still trying to keep an open mind about who to cast, but the word on the street is that Ridley is a potential candidate.

Just in case the name “Daisy Ridley” isn’t one familiar to you, this is the same actress that plays the role of Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Her performance in the movie has been highly lauded and she is also expected to appear in other Star Wars movies moving forward, so safe to say that if she lands the Lara Croft role, that would be two massive franchises that she will be taking part in.

Like we said, nothing has been confirmed but given the reboot of the video games, we suppose a reboot of the movies makes sense as well, but how do you guys like Ridley as a potentially younger and less experienced Lara Croft?
