Samsung launched its new budget handset, the Galaxy J1 (2016), in Russia about two weeks ago. It was expected that the handset will gradually make its way to other markets across the globe and the next market on its list might be the United States. Some evidence has surfaced which suggests that the Galaxy J1 (2016) might be headed to AT&T.

A render of the budget handset has been leaked online with AT&T’s carrier branding. There’s no information available right now about the possible pricing and availability of this smartphone.

The render was leaked online by a source with a very credible track record. @evleaks tweeted this render without metioning how much this handset will cost on AT&T and when might the carrier make an announcement.

The Galaxy J1 (2016) is truly a budget handset with specifications to match. It features a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.3GHz quadcore processor under the hood with 1GB RAM. There’s a 5 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front camera, 8GB storage with microSD card support and a 2050mAh battery.

If the price of its predecessor is any indication, it’s possible that the Galaxy J1 (2016) might cost around $120 when it arrives. AT&T is yet to confirm when it’s going to release the Galaxy J1 (2016) in the United States.
