Gionee Pioneer P5 Mini Launched

gionee-p5-miniGionee is a name that is more often than not associated with smartphones that are sleek and slim in nature, so much so that one of their earlier models, the Gionee Elife S5.1 has been officially recognized to be the thinnest smartphone in the world a couple of years back. This time around, however, it does not look as though Gionee has something that resides on the high end side of things, but rather, it would be the entry level market that would be on the receiving end.

Over in India, Gionee would be rolling out the P5 Mini, which is a budget-friendly smartphone that comes with the most basic of specifications and functions. Other than that, it will feature a 4.5” IPS LCD display at 854 x 480 resolution, a quad-core Mediatek MT6580M processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory that can be further expanded via a microSD memory card slot, a 5MP shooter at the back, a 2MP camera in front for selfie shots, dual SIM support so that you can separate your professional and private life, a 1850mAh battery, and Android 5.1 Lollipop running the show with Amigo 3.1 UI on top.

There are 5 colors to choose from, and with an asking price of $80 a pop after conversion, surely this is not too much to ask for a functional handset that gets the job done?
