Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 Printer Could Be Coming Soon

fujifilm instax sp-1With digital cameras and photo sharing platforms like Instagram, Flickr, and Facebook, the days of poring over a printed photo album or huddling over a polaroid print out appears to have long passed. However Fujifilm believes that the demand could still be there, or at least that’s what we think thanks to rumors of a new Instax SP-2 printer which could be launching soon.

According to Fuji Rumors, they have heard from their sources that a new Instax SP-2 printer could be in the works and might be launched soon. The printer will come with several improvements made to it, such as a rechargeable battery, allowing higher-resolution prints, and also it could print faster, just to name a few of its rumored features/improvements.

We’re not sure if that’s all there is to it or if there could be more, but it does sound like the higher-resolution prints could be worth spending the money to upgrade already. For those unfamiliar with the Instax SP-1, this is basically a portable printer where you could send photos to it wirelessly through an app and have it print physical copies of said photos on the spot.

It relies on film to print which can be pricey if you plan on printing many copies, but otherwise the printer is pretty useful for those who enjoy scrapbooking. As it stands the Instax SP-1 is priced at around $130 for the printer itself, so we can only imagine that its successor should be priced the same as well. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but maybe Fujifilm could announce the printer alongside the rumored Fujifilm X-T2, which last we check could be announced in the coming months.
