Huawei Unveils The Honor Band A1 Fitness Tracker

huawei honor band a1 1Last year Huawei launched their own smartwatch in the form of the Huawei Watch. The design language is pretty sleek and proved to be a classy affair, and it looks like Huawei will be keeping that design language around because according to a recent announcement, the Chinese company has unveiled the Huawei Honor Band A1.

As the name suggests, this is a wearable device but unlike the Huawei Watch, this is a fitness tracker and it isn’t your run of the mill tracker either. Straightaway the design of the Honor Band A1 stands out because from the looks of things, it looks like a regular bracelet that you might expect from a high-end luxury fashion brand.

However don’t let its exterior fool you because under the hood, it sports some unique features as well. For starters it comes with an embedded UV sensor. This will measure radiation levels around you and in turn can recommend a suitable sunscreen. While it lacks a display, it does sport a tiny LED cutout that will blink when you receive a notification, like incoming calls and messages.

It will play nicely with iOS and Android devices and will also come with the usual tracking features like steps taken, distance ran/walked, calories burnt, and so on. No word on whether it will make its way stateside, but right now it is pegged for a launch in China for around $15 for the silicone band, and $30 for the leather variant.
