Periscope today announced that it’s going to make broadcasts permanent in just a few weeks, this means that Periscope broadcasts will no longer disappear after 24 hours by default, they will be permanently available on the broadcaster’s profile. It will be up to users if they want to use this feature, they can continue to have broadcasts disappear by default, and they can always delete them whenever they want to.

Periscope also announced that in the coming days, users will be able to search for broadcasts by title or topic. When they tap on the search button in the Global List, they will see a list of suggested topics, users can also start a broadcast about a topic by simply tapping on the relevant button.

It’s testing two new topics that users can search for: “First Scope,” which will be used to welcome new broadcasters to the community and “GoPros and Drones” where broadcasts from GoPros and, for the first time, drones, will be available.

Those who want to broadcast from a supported DJI drone just need to connect their iPhone to their drone’s remote. The app will automatically pull in the drone’s video feed and enable users to switch between it and their iPhone cameras, even with their GoPro.

All of these features will be available to Periscope users in a couple of weeks from now.
