AT&T iPhone 7 Promotions Could Give Others A Run For Their Money

iPhone-6-review-3

The iPhone 7 is going to be a major upgrade for Apple’s flagship smartphone so it goes without saying that retailers and carrier are looking to bring in a substantial amount of business once this handset is released. Analysts predict that AT&T is going to lean on the new Apple flagship to stem its subscriber decline. This would mean that the AT&T iPhone 7 promotions and deals could give the other carriers in the United States a run for their money.

Carriers already get a thin margin on smartphone sales and it’s no secret that Apple would rather prefer customers to purchase its handsets through its own stores.

So if AT&T can’t make enough money simply by selling the iPhone 7, it could try to spin the narrative to postpaid customer stability, in order to show that its customers aren’t jumping at the opportunity to switch carriers. This would require aggressive promotions and deals to provide postpaid customers an incentive to either join or stay with AT&T.

Over 363,000 postpaid customers left AT&T in the first quarter of this and it certainly wouldn’t want a repeat of that, which is why it makes sense if the carrier wants to lean on the new iPhone to improve its customer numbers, but whether or not its promotions will have the intended effect remains to be seen.
