iphone 7 casesRight now the question as to whether or not the Smart Connector initially introduced in the iPad Pro will make it to the iPhone 7. There have been some back and forth rumors with some claiming yes, and others claiming no. Now thanks to a set of images of alleged iPhone 7 case, it shows that the phone will indeed sport the Smart Connector.

As you can see in the photo above, this case has been designed to accommodate the Smart Connector via a small cutout on the back of it. It also seems to accommodate the dual camera lens setup which last we heard, was rumored only for the iPhone 7 Plus and even then, it would be a specific model.

Right now it is unclear as to how a Smart Connector on the iPhone 7 would work. On the iPad Pro, it is used to connect the Smart Keyboard accessory and other keyboard accessories created for the iPad Pro in mind. It is possible that this would allow the Smart Keyboard to work with the iPhone 7, but then again it’s not like there’s a lot of demand for physical keyboards for the iPhone to begin with.

We suppose we could be looking at new ways of connecting accessories, especially since the rumors of the headphone port being removed, meaning that the Lightning port could now be used to connect headphones. In turn this means that the iPhone 7 could use another way to connect to accessories while the Lightning port is being used. Needless to say it should be taken with a grain of salt.
