Halo Wars 2 Open Beta May Go Live Next Week

Halo Wars 2 is a real-time strategy game for Xbox One and Windows 10 that’s currently in development. Now that E3 2016 is just around the corner, we can be sure to hear more information about the game during this convention. Microsoft has already confirmed that Halo Wars 2 will be showcased in playable form at E3 2016. New leaks suggest that the Halo Wars 2 Open Beta may go live in the coming week.

The leaks reveal that there’s going to be an open beta for Halo Wars 2 during E3 2016 week, running from June 13th to June 20th. Players interested in trying out the beta will require an Xbox Live Gold subscription. A couple of screenshots of the game have also been leaked online.

Halo Wars 2 was first announced at Gamescon. A CGI trailer was released at the announcement, and we were told that this is a real-time strategy game which will arrive by the fall in 2016. The game is being developed by Sega’s Total War Team at The Creative Assembly.

As previously mentioned, Microsoft has already confirmed that Halo Wars 2 will be showcased in playable form at E3 2016. Though it’s not like the public will get a chance to take it for a spin, E3 is limited to members of the gaming industry and the media.

Microsoft is yet to confirm a precise release date for Halo Wars 2 for Xbox One and Windows 10.
