Samsung Launches Galaxy J2 Pro

Samsung has launched yet another budget handset. Merely a fortnight after it unveiled the Galaxy J2 (2016), the company today came out with the Galaxy J2 Pro. Some might find it odd that Samsung is launching an upgraded model of a handset that came out just two weeks ago, but these things rarely make any sense, which is why the Galaxy J2 Pro was introduced in all its glory today.

The Galaxy J2 (2016) features 1.5GB RAM and has 8GB of internal storage. If you think that’s not good enough, then the Galaxy J2 Pro is for you, because it features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.

Galaxy J2 Pro also touts Samsung’s new Turbo Speed Technology which is basically a low-energy RAM management software which is constantly running in the background to help the processor load apps up to 40 percent faster than devices with double the RAM, or so claims Samsung.

Other than these changes, it’s more or less the same Galaxy J2 (2016) that came out two weeks ago. The Galaxy J2 Pro has the same 5 inch Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz Spreadtrum SC8830 quad-core processor, 8 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera as well as 2,600mAh battery.

Samsung is initially making the Galaxy J2 Pro available in India for about $150. It’s unclear at this point in time if this handset is ever going to make its way out of India.
