galaxy j2The Samsung Galaxy J2 is a handset we have been hearing about and while its specs are certainly nothing to shout about, the phone does come with a rather interesting feature called Smart Glow, which back then was rumored to be a much more functional and enhanced version of the notification light.

The good news is that we won’t have to wonder anymore as Samsung has officially taken the wraps off the Samsung Galaxy J2. As you can see in the image above, the Smart Glow is the highlight of the phone. This is an LED light that sits around the camera of your smartphone and as you can see, it has several functions.

The most obvious is that it will glow to let users know of notifications. It will also glow red for usage alerts, and it will also glow blue when to let users know that they are in the frame when using the rear-facing camera to snap selfies with. Users will also be able to customize the feature further depending on their needs.

As for its specs, the handset sports a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. There is 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 2,600mAh battery. It also features Turbo Speed Technology which basically tries to offer up a performance boost despite the handset’s somewhat low-end specs. No word on whether it will be launching stateside, but we’ll be keeping an eye out all the same.
