According to SamMobile’s source, the upcoming Galaxy C9 will be codenamed “Amy” and will have the model number SM-C9000. Based on its specs, it’s not necessarily the most powerful smartphone but it does seem like a mid-range handset with slighter above average specs, which might appeal to those who don’t want to pay for a flagship like the Galaxy S7.
The rumored specs of the Galaxy C9 is said to be roughly based on the Galaxy C5, which sports a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, and under the hood we are looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, LTE, and a fingerprint sensor.
The main difference would be its display which is said to be of the 6-inch variety, but other than that it should be similar to the Galaxy C5, or better. While Samsung did state that they do have plans to bring iris scanning to its mid-range lineup, it does not appear that it will be starting with the Galaxy C9, but in any case take it with a grain of salt for now.
