Strong Denuvo Game Anti-Piracy System Properly Cracked

There was a time when it was relatively easy for video game pirates to crack the anti-piracy systems and distribute games for little or no charge at all. The gaming industry has evolved since then and built in very strong anti-piracy systems or DRM that have proven to be very hard to crack. Denuvo is considered the strongest of these systems and according to a report it has now been properly cracked for the first time.

One “scene” group has released a version of Rise of the Tomb Raider online which comes with a full crack for Denuvo, simply put, it means that a pirated copy of this game is now available online.

The full crack follows a bypass for the system which was discovered over the weekend and was quickly patched by the developers of Denuvo. The exploit used the Doom demo’s Denuvo activiation system to enable pirates to bypass the DRM in other games. This workaround was only good for three days after which it was patched.

The first properly cracked copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider is now quite popular on online file sharing websites and it includes three DLCs as well. A bonafide crack of Denuvo is considered a great achievement by the pirate community but it’s unclear how the scene group was able to make this happen, and it’s quite likely that the developers of Denuvo will patch the exploit as soon as they get their hands on it.
