Xiaomi today announced the launch of a brand new handset called the Redmi Note 4. It touts a 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass. The handset has a full metal body with chamfered edges that lend a premium feel to it. The Redmi Note 4 has respectable specifications and in true Xiaomi fashion it has been competitively priced.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is powered by a 10 core MediaTek Helio X20 processor reaching clock speeds of up to 2.1GHz. It also features a 13 megapixel rear camera, up to 64GB of internal storage with microSD card support, LTE as well as an “ultra-fast” fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi appears to have omitted some crucial bits of information from the press release announcing the launch of the Redmi Note 4. It doesn’t mention how much RAM this handset has or whether it has a USB Type-C port or sticks with the more common microUSB port. Official pictures show that it has the latter.

The company is going to start selling this handset starting tomorrow in silver, gold and dark grey colors via Mi.com, Mi Home stores in China as well as through China Mobile’s offline and online sales channels. The base 16GB model of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 costs around $140, it’s a very good deal at this price, but it’s not available to customers in the U.S. as Xiaomi is yet to launch its smartphones in the country. The company has said that its smartphones will be landing in the United States very soon.
