Xiaomi is a Chinese OEM that has grown rapidly in the global market. It makes a wide variety of products, everything from smartphones, notebooks to electric screwdrivers. The company is believed to have a new handset in the pipeline called the Mi Note 2. Some new renders of the device have been leaked online and at first glance it looks quite similar to Samsung’s new flagship, the Galaxy Note 7.

Renders show that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 may have a metal and glass design not unlike that of the Galaxy Note 7. It even appears to have a dual-edge curved display like the Note 7 but it may be sourcing that from Samsung as there have been rumors previously suggesting that Samsung may sell its dual-edge curved display to OEMs in China like Xiaomi.

A dual camera setup can be seen on the back in these renders. There have been multiple rumors claiming that Xiaomi could fit a 12 megapixel dual camera system into this upcoming handset but whether or not that’s really the case remains to be seen. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is believed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 6GB RAM, 128GB onboard storage as well as a 4,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi is expected to announce the Mi Note 2 at some point next month with the handset rumored to cost just over $500 in China. It’s unclear if it will be released in other markets where Xiaomi sells its smartphones.
