Australian Carrier To Take Google Pixel Pre-Orders On October 4

htc nexusA rumor from about a week ago suggested that Google’s upcoming Pixel and Pixel XL handsets would be officially revealed on the 4th of October. If you’re wondering how reliable those dates are, here’s some more “proof” that it is real. The folks at Ausdroid have learnt that Australian carrier Telstra will begin taking pre-orders for the phone on the same day.

According to the report, the carrier will begin accepting pre-orders for the Pixel XL on the 4th, meaning that there’s a good chance other carriers like those in the US could also begin accepting pre-orders then as well. It is unclear as to when the phones will be released, so it is possible that maybe Telstra might be trying to get the ball rolling early, but we guess we’ll have to wait and see.

The Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are said to be made by HTC, with the main difference between both models being its screen size, with the Pixel said to sport a 5-inch display while the Pixel XL will have a 5.5-inch display, but other than that the rest of its hardware should be more or less similar to each other.

Google has yet to send out the official invites to their announcement event, but if the 4th of October dates are true we should expect them in the coming weeks.
