Samsung Investigating Replacement Galaxy Note 7 Handset Issues

galaxy-note-7-design_05-black-cameraAccording to Samsung, the replacement Galaxy Note 7 handsets are safe for use, but if you might recall there have been several reports of users complaining about the phone getting very hot and being unable to hold its charge. At that time we thought this wasn’t so bad as it seemed that the exploding batteries have stopped.

However a new report out of China revealed that was not the case. Samsung has since issued a statement that says that they are investigating the claims on an individual basis, meaning that customers and investors can relax for now knowing that this isn’t as widespread as some might think that it is.

According to Samsung, “There have been a few reports about the battery charging levels and we would like to reassure everyone that the issue does not pose a safety concern. In normal conditions, all smartphones may experience temperature fluctuations.” While it is true that phones do get hot, several customers have complained that in some instances it got so hot that the phone shut itself down, or it became uncomfortable to use.

It is unclear if this is indeed “normal” or if there could be some kind of software/hardware issue causing the phone to work overtime, thus causing the increase in temperature. However like we said, this doesn’t seem to be too widespread so perhaps it could be chalked up to a few defective units.
