Sony launched two new smartphones at IFA 2016 and recently confirmed the official pricing and availability details for the U.S. The company has not teamed up with carriers to sell these handsets in the country, it’s relying on Amazon instead. The Xperia X Compact has already been on sale via Amazon and now the Xperia XZ is available for purchase in the United States through Amazon.

Sony’s latest Android-powered handset has respectable specifications. It features a 5.2 inch full HD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage as well as a 23 megapixel rear and 13 megapixel front camera. A 2,900mAh battery powers the handsets.

The handset packages all of these internals inside a nice metal body which one would expect from a flagship handset, however, the price might put some customers off. Sony is asking $699 for the Xperia XZ.

Some customers might find the price to be high because competing devices with similar internals like the HTC 10 and Samsung Galaxy S7 have already been out for a few months and can now be purchased for less.

Those who are interested in picking one up can now do so via Amazon. They will get the Xperia XZ unlocked and off-contract for $699. Customers should keep in mind that the U.S. version of this handset does not have a fingerprint scanner.
