Microsoft’s Alleged Surface Keyboard Revealed In FCC Filing

surface-keyboardAbout a week ago, we heard the rumors that Microsoft had a Surface-branded keyboard in the works, and just recently we caught a glimpse at a Surface-branded mouse thanks to a sighting at the FCC. However it seems that’s not all that was spotted at the FCC because the filing has also revealed the Surface-branded keyboard.

At a glance, the keyboard above might have you thinking that it belongs to a certain fruit company, and we guess we can see why that is. The color, the layout, and the shape of the individual keys all certainly look like it could pass off as the Apple Magic Keyboard, but nope, this apparently belongs to Microsoft!

Unfortunately it’s a bit hard to tell from this photo what kind of material the keyboard will be made of. Will Microsoft follow in Apple’s footsteps by using metal? Or will it be made from plastic? The Surface Mouse certainly did not wow us with its design, in fact it is rather oddly shaped (we expected it to be more ergonomical).

There have been rumors that Microsoft is working on a Surface AIO computer, so it is possible that these accessories could be bundled with the computer, although it is also entirely possible that Microsoft could sell them as standalone accessories as well.
