Just like Apple’s Notes app on iOS, Google Keep has similarly evolved over the years. It started out as a simple note-taking app, but like we said, it evolved and gained more editing skills where there is advanced search, bookmarking, OCR images, and just last year, Google Keep for Android gained a new doodling feature.

If you loved that particular feature, you’ll be pleased to learn that it looks like doodling feature will now be making its way onto the desktop. However as pointed out by 9to5Google, the features are only available if you were to download Google Keep as an extension for the Chrome browser, so if you are using Keep in a different browser or if you’re using it via keep.google.com, then you won’t be able to access them.

It seems that the feature is pretty much a straight port of the version for mobile, so if you’ve used it before then you should be pretty familiar with how it works on the desktop. It will work with trackpads as well so if you’re on a laptop, you should have no problems using it, although we reckon that tracing with a finger might be a bit easier and intuitive than a mouse.

In any case if you’re interested in checking it out, then head on over to the Chrome Web Store for the download.
