Samsung Mobile Chief Wants Tighter Security To Prevent Leaks

Right now when it comes to information about the upcoming Galaxy S8, there are plenty of rumors floating around at the moment. Unfortunately leaks are something that many tech companies are forced to deal with on a daily basis, and sometimes they just happen, unfortunately.

However Samsung really wants to clamp down on this. According to The Investor, they got their hands on an email (oh, the irony!) sent by Samsung Mobile’s chief Koh Dong-jin in which Koh was asking employees to be more careful. The email reads, “I feel deeply regretful to hear news of the recent attempts at data breach and prototype leak.”

He also adds that how leaks have harmed the company’s product design and how it revealed some of their business strategies to the competition. “Samsung had a bitter experience due to the leak of important data — on product design and business strategies — to China and consequently suffered damages in the past.”

This is not the first time that Samsung has called upon their employees to be more careful, and we doubt it will be the last. Whether or not Koh will be successful in appealing to employees remains to be seen, but since there is a long supply chain, chances are something may leak along the way. Even Apple who was once known as almost leak-proof have proven to be rather leaky in the past few years.
