Analyst Expects Nintendo Switch To Sell 40 Million Units In 4 Years

nintendo_switch_zeldaWe can only imagine that Nintendo really hopes that the Switch will be a success, unlike the Wii U which unfortunately was anything but, although we guess it did have its moments. That being said, it seems that some analysts are pretty optimistic about the Switch’s chances at success, and have predicted that the console will move many units.

According to the analysts at DFC Intelligence, it seems that they are predicting that the Nintendo Switch will be able to sell as many as 40 million units over the next 4 years. This means that the analysts believe that the console has the potential to be just as popular as other consoles like the PS4, Sony’s latest console which took about 3 years to cross the 40 million mark.

According to the company, “Demand is expected to be strong and the major issue will be whether the system can attract a broad audience starting in the holiday sales season of 2017. The Switch is a compelling piece of hardware that could potentially reach a much larger addressable market.”

For a bit of context, the Wii U only managed to cross the 10 million mark in 2015, making it fall shy of initial predictions of 25 million units. Interestingly enough despite the fact that analysts seem to pretty upbeat about the Switch, Nintendo’s investors aren’t as the company’s share prices fell following the console’s pricing and availability announcement.
