Taclim VR Shoes Are Shoes For Your VR Feet

taclim-vr-shoesSo there are controllers for virtual reality in which through them, you’ll be able to use your hands in the game or whatever simulation that you are running. These controllers are also meant to help you navigate the world, although maybe it’s not the most realistic since we’re sure that many of us are used to walking rather than pressing buttons, right?

The good news is that during CES, a company by the name of Cerevo took the wraps off the Taclim, which as you can see in the photo above is a pair of VR shoes. If you’re wondering what the heck are VR shoes, basically these are controllers designed for your feet, in which as you move your feet, your virtual feet will move as well.

This should make it pretty useful for walking or running in a game, or even performing moves like kicking or dancing. According to the company, “Cerevo has specially developed customized tactile devices in collaboration with Nidec Seimitsu Corporation, a leading company in the field of haptic components. 1.4 inch (3.5 cm) width devices, a very large size for tactile electronic products, are used in Taclim to generate various real senses. In Taclim, 8 tactile devices are implemented inside the shoes and gloves.”

It is an interesting accessory although we’re not sure if this is something that is necessary at this point. It is expected to retail for $1,000 to $1,500 upon its release, but what say you? Are the Taclim shoes something you might be interested in getting to enhance your VR experience?
