Motorola Announces New Moto Mods


At its Mobile World Congress 2017 press event today, Motorola announced new Moto Mods for those who own its modular smartphone, the Moto Z. The company says that Moto Mods are the number one reason why customers buy a Moto Z so that’s why it’s coming out with more choices for those customers who want to enhance the capabilities of their modular smartphone. It has announced several new Moto Mods today, including a power pack that will ensure that users never run out of battery.

The company says that its Moto Power Pack mod is going to instantly add 50 percent more battery to the Moto Z without adding bulk. The mod has a special efficiency mode which enables it to intelligently charge the device automatically to ensure that the phone’s efficiency is kept at its peak. The Power Pack mod will be available next month for $49.

The company also announced today that it’s going to launch additional power-focused mods which will include a wireless charging mod, a Turbo power mod, and a charging adapter. However, it’s not stopping there.

Motorola is going to come out with the Gamepad Moto Mod this summer which will transform the handset into a mobile gaming console by adding physical controls, an integrated battery, and more. Pricing and availability information about these new mods hasn’t been confirmed as yet but Moto does say that it will share more about them over the next two quarters.
