Samsung ‘Bixby’ Name Confirmed Again On Samsung’s Website

One of the features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is that it will come with a new voice assistant software called “Bixby”. This is meant to replace S Voice and so far we have been referring to it as “Bixby”, a name that seems to have been confirmed multiple times in the past thanks to trademark filings.

In case that wasn’t proof enough, the folks at Galaxyclub.nl (via SamMobile) have discovered more references made to “Bixby” on Samsung Italy’s website. The page in question is regarding mobile privacy in which the translation reads, “Depending on your model and in your area, you can order the mobile device to activate certain functions, such as playing songs from a playlist or Internet searches using S Voice. In addition, you can control all operations with the touch interface using voice commands with Bixby.”

Regardless of how accurate the translation was, we guess one thing is clear and that is Bixby will most likely be the name of Samsung’s voice assistant platform. We’re not sure if the name Bixby will also be used to activate the voice assistant or if it will be something else, but we guess we will have the official information come 29th of March which is when Samsung will be revealing the handset officially.
